Giles County Schools Prepares to Start its 7th Year of Summer Feeding

 

Giles County Public Schools is once again participating in the Summer Food Service Program. FREE meals will be provided to all children through age 18 at the following locations:

 

Narrows High School (11:30am-1:00pm), Monday thru Friday, June 10-August 15 (closed week of July 1) (menu posted on SBO website) (adults can eat for $2.50 dine-in or $3.50 take-out).

 

Pearisburg Town Pool (1:00-3:00pm), 7 days a week, June 10-August 15 (meal kits with milk).

 

Pearisburg Town Library (Noon-2:00pm), Monday thru Friday, June 10-August 16 (closed July 4/5) (meal kits with milk).

 

On opening day at Narrows High School (June 10), staff will be grilling hamburgers from the Giles County Ag Land Lab raised beef.  Arts & crafts activities will be held in the cafeteria (sponsored by GEEP).  There will be dental screenings (Community Health Center), blood pressure checks (Carilion), and heart healthy education (American Heart Association).  NRV Cares, Community Health Behavioral, and Virginia Cooperative Extension will also be attending. The media is also invited to attend.
