Job Title:  Lead HVAC Tech

 

General Description: This position entails both HVAC and General maintenance of buildings and building equipment. The individual filling this position will provide guidance and perform in a lead capacity for the HVAC component of the job.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include Determine and perform necessary work on building equipment and fixtures including but not limited to HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, electrical and electronic controls, compressed air systems, water cooled chillers, and DDC building automation systems.

 

Performing skilled work in connection with the installation, removal, operations and maintenance of the buildings, building equipment and other related physical plant.


Additional Duties: May Include performing skilled work in general maintenance, repair, modification and assisting with construction of County Buildings. As well as other maintenance duties as assigned.

 

Physical requirement: This position requires the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing items weighing more than 50 lbs. and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under some temperature extremes which includes outside work.

 

Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent, 3 to 5 years of experience in HVAC, electrical systems. Additional 1 to 2 year of experience in carpentry, construction plumbing is necessary for secondary duties. Licenses S-2 and/or E-2. A valid drivers and clean driving record is required.

 

Schedule: Typical day shift, but may include day, evening and weekend work.
