The Giles County Board of Supervisors is accepting sealed bids from licensed contractors for the construction of the Newport Park Activity Center at 640 Blue Grass Trail, Newport, Virginia. The facility is approximately 2,000 square feet, single story, wood framed structure. A nonmandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, August 4th at 10:00 a.m. on site. Plans are available at 315 North Main Street, Pearisburg, VA 24134. This project does not fall under Davis-Bacon Prevailing wage requirements.

Bids will be received at 315 North Main Street, Pearisburg, Virginia 24134, until 12 noon on August 24th 2023, when they will be publicly opened. All submissions should be in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Giles County Board of Supervisors Newport Park Activity Center Bid”. All applicable federal, state and/or local laws and requirements must be followed.

The County reserves the right to waive any and all informalities and to cancel or reject any and all bids and to make an award of a contract deemed to be in the best interests of Giles County. The County may also negotiate with the lowest responsive bidder in the event the bid amount exceeds available funds.
