Your Voice Matters:  Help Strengthen Flood Preparedness for Giles County

Join us at an upcoming workshop to help shape the Giles County Flood Preparedness Plan. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 23rd, at Narrows Town Hall, located at 210 Main Street in Narrows, VA. All are welcome to attend either the morning session from 9:00 to 11:00 AM or the evening session from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. You may arrive at any time during either session.

A presentation that explains flood risks and past flooding in Giles County starts the sessions. The project team will review the planning process and how your feedback will be used to help make decisions. After the presentation, participants can visit interactive stations designed to collect important input. The stations will allow you to share experiences and give feedback on possible solutions and actions.

Giles County is creating a Flood Preparedness Plan with support from the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund (CFPF), which is managed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. The goal of the plan is to be better prepared for both current and future flood events. Your input matters. Ideas and feedback from residents and business owners will help create a safer, more prepared community.
