HELP WANTED: Now Accepting Applications for a Full- Time Animal Care Technician

The Giles County Board of Supervisors is now accepting applications for a full-time Animal Care Technician. Primary responsibilities will include performing routine duties associated with animal care in a shelter setting, preparing food and feeding animals, maintaining sanitary conditions of shelter, observing animal conditions and behavior, coordinating volunteer programs, maintaining adequate documentation, and other related duties as required. The employee will adhere to all state and local procedures, and state certification training must be completed. Some evening and weekend hours are required, and the position is considered essential personnel. Minimum qualifications are: high school diploma/equivalent, the ability to lift 75 pounds, valid driver’s license and good driving record. Preferred qualification of one year of animal husbandry or related animal care experience or two years of animal husbandry experience in an animal shelter facility is desirable. Education may substitute for experience.
