🥾 Mill Creek Nature Park Excursion

Date: September 8

Meeting Location: 900 Northview St, Narrows, VA 24124

Meet Time: 12:30 PM | Expected Finish: 2:30 PM

🌊 What to Expect

We’ll hike together to Mill Creek Falls, a beautiful series of waterfalls located just outside downtown Narrows and accessible from the Appalachian Trail corridor.

  • Distance from parking area to the falls: approximately 1.4 miles one way

  • Roundtrip hiking time: about 1.5 hours

  • Join local volunteers who build and maintain the trails, organize fundraising and destination events, and support outdoor recreation in Giles County.

🚶 Activity Level

This experience can accommodate a variety of interests and abilities:

✅ Easy Option: Walk to the historic dam (less than 0.2 miles) on a wide path with a gentle incline.

✅ Moderate Option: Continue to Mill Creek Falls, which includes moderate hiking and some narrower trail sections.

✅ Relaxing Option: Enjoy the park from benches along Mill Creek without participating in the hike.

☔ Rain Plan

If weather prevents the hike, we’ll meet at: Narrows Farmers Market Building, 135 Monroe St, Narrows, VA 24124. The facility is covered and has restrooms available. We’ll share information about Mill Creek Nature Park and explore how downtown Narrows uses shopping, public art, and community spaces to support tourism and quality of place.
